Summer Thornton Design

I have kept my eye on Summer Thornton ever since I saw her home tour on Apartment Therapy. I love how her style is a hip take on traditional. All of her interiors are gorgeous, and I especially love her own apartment. She's an interior designer and has an amazing website as well.
I have been wanting a brass table like this sooooo bad!
Love all of the Designers Guild fabrics that she uses around her apartment, as well as the Kelly Wearstler Imperial Trellis coffee table!
Personally I'm crazy about blue velvet, tufted upholstery and nailhead trim, so this is perfection in my book.
I adore this color, the perfect robin's egg blue... I need to find this color!

Ever since I saw this little amethyst gem on Vivre a few years back, I was determined to get a rock crystal lamp someday.
Empel Collections rock crystal lamp via Cote de Texas
These lamps just blow my mind, but at about $2000 each, I wasn't sure how I'd ever get my hands on one. So, I've decided that in the next few months I'm going to attempt making one. I'm not sure if I'll use one big rock crystal cluster, or glue little pieces to a lamp, but I'm sure I'll figure it out!
Citrine Quartz Cluster via ebay
I found this piece on ebay for $70 plus shipping, which could easily make a gorgeous lamp, no gluing little pieces required! They have many similar ones all over ebay, so I will definitely document the project in the coming months... Maybe a rock crystal mirror as well, the wheels are turning....

I just wanted to share with all of you my favorite entry from Apartment Therapy's Small Cool Contest 2010, literally a contest to find the smallest and coolest spaces! Her name is Anu and this gal did such incredible things in just a small rental apartment, which I find really inspiring!
This room is so chic and interesting without being overdone. Love the bamboo chair of course, and the light gray walls. My favorite thing would have to be those greek key valences though! I have been DYING to do valences/cornices (whatever you would like to call them) in my new place when I move!!
The graphic wallpaper is awesome too, and for this particular room I think the single wall of it works, to not overpower the space.
The light blue, yellow and white with little splashes of red is stunning... and again, LOVE the valences and curtains made of that lattice print fabric. The yellow and white fabric looks very Palm Springs to me :)
I'm not sure what's up with the gray walls in the hallway, because they look like a textured wallpaper, like faux croc or something, but the picture is too small to tell for sure. If that's not what it is though, I say it's a good idea! If there is a dark gray faux croc wallpaper out there, I would paste it up on my walls ALL DAY. I'm also a huge fan of pairing gold with gray, so well done, Anu!

OK, so I know that the new issue of Lonny came out a few days ago so I'm a little late, but I still wanted to do a post on it and showcase some of the gorgeous photos!!
Love this birdcage wallpaper and ornate headboard paired with lucite side tables and modern brass lamps. LOVE.
These chevron curtains are amazing... When I move and decorate my new place, I'm determined to use bold chevron somewhere in the decor.
OK, seriously this floor lamp is insane. I totally love it.
A rock crystal lamp like the one above is definitely on my "someday list". Someday... when I can afford such a spendy accessory.
I have actually been dying to have a lucite trunk with brass hardware ever since I saw one in House Beautiful sometime early last year. I'm not exactly sure what I would put in it, but definitely something useful yet pretty.
This cutlery wallpaper is so rad...
... so is this ostrich wallpaper featured in Michelle Adams' home.
I think this idea is awesome of putting a bold fabric on the back of a piece of furniture, like this chinoiserie print.
The rose fabric on this headboard is hands-down one of my favorites from the Rubie Green line.
Yet ANOTHER thing I want that was featured in this issue, a snake-print tray. Hmmm, I'm gonna get going now and research where to find one of these....

I cannot believe these new duvet sets from Dwell Studio. When I first saw the Chinoiserie duvet from them last year, I fell in love. I had no idea that they could top it this year!
The yellow one destroys me..... but the gray kind of kills me too, so I really don't know. I do know however, that I'd love to sleep every night under this dreamy duvet.
