Rebecca Robertson created this room as part of a challenge on Martha's show. Love this room.

She used radiator cover material to make a border of molding on the ceiling. These shades of blue and yellow look so pretty together.

This coffee table is actually a vintage army cot that she painted. The trays on top are baking sheets covered in fabric with plexi-glass on top.

The cabinets are just from Ikea with the same radiator covers over the glass doors to create more of a high-end look.

I absolutely adore the molding that she made at the bottom using pieces of victorian gingerbread. It looks incredible.

My Robert Allen Ikat Fabric

I scored this lovely bit of Robert Allen ikat on ebay a while back! It's gorgeous and I see this colorway less frequently than his other ikats so that's a plus!

The other day I was browsing I Suwannee and saw a room that she did with this same fabric for drapes and throw pillows! I love it and love everything she touches, and I guess we have the same taste in fabric! I'm not sure what I am going to do with mine.... Possibly cover my dining chairs? Not sure but I'll post about it when I do!

Fabric Addiction

I have developed quite the fabric addiction in the last year or so, and acquired random pieces without yet knowing their destiny or purpose. Many of them will end up being used for various drapery and upholstery projects in the future, but for now I have figured out my first use for certain pieces. I desperately need lampshades. I have so many lamps that I have collected (probably going on about 15 in a one bedroom apartment, I have a bit of a problem....) and a bunch of them are naked without shades! Here are a few of the fabric pieces that I have collected....

I love sooooo many of the Thomas Paul fabrics, especially this Silhouette one! Probably why I had to get it in not one but two colorways. ;)

I just love ikats. This one is very thin though so I'm not quite sure yet where it will be best used.

This is my latest addition to the crazy lamp collection and I'm in love with it! Just gotta get some paint on this baby and find a new shade, because the one currently on there is just temporary. My problem is that I'm just so dang indecisive about everything, so I need to decide on paint colors for the several lamps that I am painting, plus decide on fabrics for the lampshades for each! So overwhelming because there are literally infinite options, but I will be posting pictures of all my lamp makeovers in the coming weeks! Below I have a few lamps with fabric shades for a little inspiration.

I just devoured this issue of Lonny, just as I do when each one comes out. I was mesmerized by the beautiful homes, especially these first three photos of Elizabeth Bauer's home. Her apartment just kills me. The lucite and brass coffee table, the color palette, the greek-key design roman blinds, the velvet Designer's Guild stripe on the sofa. LOVE!
